Infinite Mode Survival Guide — Wave 100+ Strategy
Infinite Mode is where Anime Defenders actually begins. Story Mode is the tutorial. Clearing Wave 100 is the real test of whether your account, your team comp, and your game sense are actually good — or just good enough for easy content.
This guide is for players who can already reach Wave 50-60 and want to push into triple digits. If you're still struggling before Wave 50, go read the Beginner Guide first and come back when your units are leveled.
Wave Structure — Know What's Coming
Infinite Mode follows a predictable pattern. Learn it and you'll never be surprised.
- Waves 1-10: Fodder. Weak enemies, low density. Use this time to set up your economy.
- Waves 11-24: Ramp up. Enemy HP increases 15% per wave. Density doubles at Wave 15.
- Wave 25: BOSS WAVE. First boss has 500K HP, AoE attack, and a shield phase.
- Waves 26-49: Faster enemies, first flying units appear at Wave 30. Mix of ground and air.
- Wave 50: BOSS WAVE. Dual boss — two bosses with 1.2M HP each. This is where most players die.
- Waves 51-74: Enemy speed increases by 40%. Trait-enhanced enemies start appearing (enemies with their own traits — yes, really).
- Wave 75: BOSS WAVE. Triple boss with 2M HP each. One ground, one flying, one hybrid.
- Waves 76-99: Maximum density. 40+ enemies per wave. This is a pure DPS and AoE check.
- Wave 100: MEGA BOSS. Single boss with 8M HP, three phases, and an enrage timer.
- Waves 100+: Everything scales infinitely. HP +20% per wave, speed +5% per wave. No ceiling.
Warning: Wave 50 is the single biggest wall in the game. If you can't beat the dual boss at Wave 50, you need better units or better traits — no amount of positioning will save you. This is a raw DPS check. Shadow Dragon with Apex trait or Storm Titan with Apex trait are borderline mandatory here.
Phase 1: Waves 1-25 — Economy and Setup
The first 25 waves are about setting up correctly, not killing efficiently. Here's the play:
Deploy Order
- Wave 1-3: Place ONE unit — your cheapest DPS. Wind Walker (600 Gold) or Dark Samurai (700 Gold) work great. Let it solo these waves while you bank Gold.
- Wave 4-6: Place your main DPS (Shadow Dragon, Storm Titan) and start upgrading it. Get it to upgrade level 3 by Wave 6.
- Wave 7-10: Place Frost Empress for slow coverage. Position her at the path entrance.
- Wave 11-15: Place Celestial Qi Master. Max upgrade your main DPS.
- Wave 16-24: Place Lava Admiral for AoE. Fill remaining slots. All core units should be at max upgrade by Wave 24.
Pro Tip: Don't max upgrade your AoE units first. AoE clear is irrelevant in waves 1-25 because there aren't enough enemies. Invest Gold into your single-target DPS first — it matters more for the Wave 25 boss.
Positioning Template (Standard Map)

[Storm Titan — long range, covers both lanes]
The key insight: your main DPS cluster (Shadow Dragon + Qi Master + Lava Admiral) should be at the tightest bend in the path. Enemies spend the most time in this zone, maximizing damage output.
Storm Titan goes near the exit as a safety net. Its 22-tile range means it contributes DPS even from a distance, and it catches any enemies that leak through your main cluster.
Phase 2: Waves 25-50 — The DPS Check
Wave 25 Boss
- HP: 500K
- Ability: Ground slam every 8 seconds (damages your units if they're ground type)
- Shield Phase: At 50% HP, gains a 100K shield for 5 seconds
- Strategy: Burst through the shield with Crystal Mage if you have her. Otherwise, just keep DPS up — Shadow Dragon with Apex destroys this boss in under 10 seconds.
Waves 26-49 Adjustments
Flying enemies start at Wave 30. If you don't have anti-air:
- Storm Titan hits air (primary anti-air)
- Lightning Sage chains to air targets
- Celestial Qi Master hits everything
Warning: If your only anti-air is Storm Titan, you WILL struggle at Wave 40+ where flying enemy density spikes. Lightning Sage or Astral Knight should be your flex slot specifically for air coverage.
Wave 50 Dual Boss
This is where runs end for 80% of players. Two bosses, 1.2M HP each, and they don't walk single-file — they spread across two path segments.
Strategy:
- Position matters more than DPS here. Your main cluster needs to hit BOTH bosses simultaneously.
- Frost Empress slow is critical — if one boss reaches the exit while you're still killing the other, run over.
- If you have Crystal Mage, save her burst for when both bosses are in your kill zone. A well-timed burst can delete 400K HP from both targets.
- Celestial Qi Master's healing keeps your ground units alive through the boss AoE attacks.
Pro Tip: If one boss is significantly further ahead than the other, sell your path-entrance slow unit and re-place it near the exit to buy time. Selling and re-deploying costs 40% of the original deploy Gold, but it's better than dying.
Phase 3: Waves 51-75 — Speed and Traits
Wave 51 is where Infinite Mode stops being forgiving. Enemies move 40% faster, which means:
- Less time in your kill zone
- Frost Empress slow becomes even more valuable (35% slow on 140% speed enemies effectively brings them to 91% base speed)
- Positioning gaps that were fine before will now cause leaks
Trait-Enhanced Enemies
Starting at Wave 55, some enemies spawn with traits:
- Speedster enemies: 30% faster than normal. These WILL leak if your slow isn't covering them.
- Tank enemies: 50% more HP. Your DPS needs to be high enough to chew through them.
- Apex enemies: 40% more damage to your ground units. Celestial Qi Master healing becomes essential.
Counter strategy: There's no specific counter. You just need enough overall power. If trait enemies are causing leaks, your team isn't strong enough — go back and farm better traits on your units.
Wave 75 Triple Boss
Three bosses. 2M HP each. One ground, one flying, one hybrid. This is the real skill check.
- The ground boss should melt to your main cluster if it's properly positioned
- The flying boss requires dedicated anti-air DPS — Storm Titan alone might not cut it
- The hybrid boss switches between ground and air every 10 seconds, making it annoying to track
Key: Kill the flying boss first. It deals ranged AoE that damages your units from across the map. Once it's down, the ground and hybrid bosses are manageable.
Phase 4: Waves 76-100 — Pure Survival
Waves 76-99 are a war of attrition. 40+ enemies per wave, mixed ground and air, all with boosted stats. Your team either handles it or it doesn't.
What You Need to Survive
- Minimum DPS: 1.5M combined team DPS (check by watching your damage numbers)
- Slow coverage: Frost Empress with Apex trait (50% slow) is practically mandatory
- Healing: Celestial Qi Master must be alive and in range of your DPS cluster
- AoE clear: Lava Admiral or Lightning Sage to handle wave density
- Anti-air: At least two units that hit flying targets
Common Failure Points
- DPS too low: Your Shadow Dragon doesn't have Apex trait. Fix this before pushing again.
- No slow coverage: Enemies moving at 140% speed just run through your kill zone. Get Frost Empress.
- Bad positioning: Your DPS units are spread across the map instead of clustered at the optimal bend.
- No healing: Ground units die to AoE damage and you have gaps in coverage. Celestial Qi Master fixes this.
- Ignoring flying enemies: A single flying leak at Wave 85+ ends your run.
Warning: If you're consistently dying between Wave 76-85, the problem is almost always traits. Go farm Trait Crystals and get Apex on your Shadow Dragon and Frost Empress before attempting again. Read the Trait System Guide for efficient trait farming.
Wave 100 Mega Boss
- HP: 8M across three phases
- Phase 1 (8M-5M): Standard attacks, high damage. Pure DPS race.
- Phase 2 (5M-2M): Boss summons minions every 10 seconds. Your AoE units need to handle adds while DPS focuses boss.
- Phase 3 (2M-0): Enrage. Boss moves 3x faster and deals double damage. You have about 45 seconds to kill it before it reaches the exit.
- Strategy: Save any burst abilities (Crystal Mage) for Phase 3. The enrage timer is tight — you need everything you have.
Beyond Wave 100
Congratulations, you're in the top 5% of players. Past Wave 100, everything scales infinitely:
- Enemy HP: +20% per wave
- Enemy speed: +5% per wave
- Boss HP: +30% per boss wave
The current community record is Wave 247. The teams pushing that high are running full SSS rosters with Apex traits across the board. If you want to push for personal records, focus on:
- Perfect trait rolls on all 5 units
- Max Relic gear on your DPS units
- Optimal placement down to the pixel
- Learning the exact timing of boss abilities to pre-position
