Warning: Pity does NOT carry between different banners. If you do 30 pulls on the Shadow Dragon banner and then switch to the Cursed Knight banner, your pity resets to zero. Pick one banner and commit.

As of the latest patch (Feb 2026), the Celestial Qi Master banner is the safest pick for new accounts. 1. Stage 1-1 to 1-3: Place your starter unit near the first bend in the path. Upgrade it twice before the third wave. These stages are tutorials — you literally cannot lose.
2. Stage 1-4: This is the first stage where enemy HP actually matters. Place your unit at the center crossroads where it can hit enemies on two path segments. Upgrade to max before wave 5.
3. Stage 1-5: Mini-boss stage. The boss has 15,000 HP and a shield phase at 50%. Keep attacking through the shield — it breaks after 3 seconds. If you're struggling, replay 1-3 twice to gain a level and come back.

Pro Tip: Don't skip the tutorial pop-ups. They award 25 Gems each, and there are 8 of them in Chapter 1 alone. That's 200 free Gems you'll miss if you tap through them.

Step 3: Understanding Your Resources

Pro Tip: After redeeming codes, you should have around 1,700+ Gems total. Still not enough for pity. Keep saving.

Step 5: Your First Banner Pull (When You're Ready)

Once you've saved 2,500 Gems, it's time to pull. Here's the decision framework:

• Celestial Qi Master banner — The safe pick for beginners. Strong at all levels, provides healing and DPS, works in every mode. If you don't know what to pick, pick this.
• Shadow Dragon banner — Higher ceiling but needs good traits to shine. If you're willing to invest Trait Crystals later, Shadow Dragon at Apex trait is the best DPS unit in the game (850K DPS at max level).
• Cursed Knight banner — Niche. Amazing in Infinite Mode but mediocre in Story Mode. Skip this for your first SSS.

Warning: Do NOT pull on the "Standard Banner" that's always available. The rates are terrible and there's no pity. It's a Gem sink designed to bait new players.

Common Beginner Mistakes
