Update 28 Changes to Grinding
Update 28 raised the level cap to 3000 (from 2550) and added new endgame grinding zones in the Third Sea. The Mansion area now extends to Level 3000, and new boss raids at the Serpent and Pteranodon locations offer massive XP alongside Fragment rewards. Buddha remains the #1 grinding fruit, but Magma and Phoenix are now competitive alternatives for players without Buddha.
Why Your Grinding Spot Matters More Than Your Fruit
Here's a stat that might surprise you: picking the right grinding spot can improve your XP/hour by 40–60% compared to just following the quest line blindly. The quest system sends you to the "correct" island for your level, but it doesn't always send you to the most efficient spot.
Some spots have better mob density (more enemies packed together). Some have faster respawn timers. Some have terrain that funnels enemies into a tight area where AoE attacks shred them. This guide covers all of it.
As of Update 28 (Feb 2026), all locations and XP values have been verified.
Recommended Grinding Setup
Before we dive into spots, here's your ideal grinding loadout:
- Fruit: Buddha (for AoE range), or any Logia (for passive dodge below your level)
- Fighting Style: Superhuman or Death Step (both have good AoE)
- Stats: Melee-heavy build (60% Melee, 20% Defense, 20% Fruit)
- Server: Private server or low-population public server
- Buffs: 2x EXP code active (check our Codes page)
💡 Pro Tip: Buddha + Superhuman is the grinding meta for a reason. Buddha's transformation increases your melee hitbox to hit enemies in a huge radius around you. Combined with Superhuman's AoE kicks, you can clear 5–6 enemies per attack cycle. Nothing else comes close.
First Sea Grinding Spots (Level 1–700)
Level 1–30: Starter Island
Enemies: Bandits (Lv. 5), Monkeys (Lv. 14) XP per kill: 45–120 Quest XP: 250–600 Recommended fruit: Anything. You probably don't have one yet.
Just follow the quests. There's no secret optimization at this level — kill what the Military Soldier tells you to kill and move on.
Level 30–60: Pirate Village
Enemies: Pirates (Lv. 35), Bobby (Level 55) XP per kill: 180–350 Quest XP: 800–1,200 Recommended fruit: Any Logia for passive dodge
The Bobby toggle method is your first real grinding optimization. Here's how:
- Accept the Bobby quest
- Kill Bobby
- Don't turn in the quest — instead, abandon it
- Re-accept immediately and kill Bobby again
- Repeat
Bobby gives more XP than regular pirates and respawns fast. This is significantly faster than killing regular mobs.
⚠️ Warning: Bobby hits hard for his level. If you don't have a Logia fruit, bring food or keep your HP topped up between fights.
Level 60–120: Desert → Frozen Village
Enemies: Desert Officers (Lv. 70), Snow Bandits (Lv. 90), Snowman Boss (Lv. 100) XP per kill: 350–650 Quest XP: 1,500–2,500 Recommended fruit: Flame or Ice (cheap Logias that trivialize these areas)
Desert Officers are tightly packed behind the main buildings. With a Logia fruit, you can stand in the middle of them and spam attacks while they phase through you. Extremely efficient.
Level 120–300: Marine Fortress → Prison → Skylands
Enemies: Marines (Lv. 120), Prisoners (Lv. 200), Sky Bandits (Lv. 250) XP per kill: 650–2,200 Quest XP: 2,500–5,500 Recommended fruit: Buddha (if you have it by now)
Marine Fortress has the best mob density in early-mid Sea 1. The Marines spawn in a tight courtyard and you can pull 8+ at once with Buddha's range. This is where Buddha grinding really starts to shine.
💡 Pro Tip: Unlock Instinct at the Skylands (costs 750,000 Beli, requires Level 300). Even though you're focused on grinding, start training Instinct now. Let enemies hit you with Instinct active — each dodge trains the skill. You'll thank yourself later in PvP.
Level 300–525: Colosseum → Magma Village
Enemies: Gladiators (Lv. 325), Magma Ninjas (Lv. 400–500) XP per kill: 2,200–4,800 Quest XP: 6,000–10,000 Recommended fruit: Buddha
Magma Village is the best Sea 1 grinding spot, period. The ninjas spawn in large groups on the open volcanic terrain, giving you clear sightlines and easy AoE access. The quest NPCs are close to the spawn points, so the quest-kill-turnin loop is very tight.
If you're stuck between 400–500, just stay at Magma Village. Don't leave early.
Level 525–700: Underwater City → Fountain City
Enemies: Fishmen (Lv. 550), Galley Pirates (Lv. 650) XP per kill: 4,800–7,500 Quest XP: 11,000–13,000 Recommended fruit: Buddha or any Logia
Fountain City is the final Sea 1 grind. The enemies here are tanky but the XP is great. Push through to 700 and unlock the Second Sea.
Second Sea Grinding Spots (Level 700–1500)
Level 700–875: Kingdom of Rose
Enemies: Swan Pirates (Level 240), Factory Staff (Lv. 800) XP per kill: 8,000–11,000 Quest XP: 18,000–22,000 Recommended fruit: Buddha
Kingdom of Rose is a massive island with multiple quest areas. The Factory section has the densest mob spawns. Focus there.
Level 875–1100: Green Zone → Graveyard
Enemies: Zombie Pirates (Lv. 900), Zombies (Lv. 1050) XP per kill: 12,000–18,000 Quest XP: 28,000–35,000 Recommended fruit: Buddha
Graveyard is the best grinding spot in Sea 2. The Zombies have low HP relative to their level and the XP is outstanding. The area is compact, respawns are fast, and with Buddha you can hit 6+ zombies at once. Many players stay here from 950 all the way to 1200.
⚠️ Warning: The Graveyard is popular. On public servers, you'll compete with other grinders. Server hop until you find an empty one, or use a private server.
Level 1100–1500: Snow Mountain → Hot and Cold → Ice Castle
Enemies: Snow Lurkers (Lv. 1150), Mercenaries (Lv. 1300), Ice Vikings (Lv. 1425) XP per kill: 18,000–30,000 Quest XP: 42,000–58,000 Recommended fruit: Buddha
Ice Castle is the final push before the Third Sea. The Ice Vikings are tanky but give massive XP. At this point, your Buddha build should be clearing them in 3–4 hits each.
Third Sea Grinding Spots (Level 1500–3000)
Level 1500–1700: Port Town → Hydra Island
Enemies: Pirate Millionaires (Lv. 1525), Island Boys (Lv. 1625) XP per kill: 32,000–42,000 Quest XP: 65,000–78,000 Recommended fruit: Buddha
Hydra Island has a great open layout for AoE grinding. The enemies spawn in clusters near the quest NPC.
Level 1700–1975: Great Tree → Floating Turtle
Enemies: Jungle Pirates (Lv. 1750), Marines (Lv. 1900) XP per kill: 45,000–58,000 Quest XP: 90,000–105,000 Recommended fruit: Buddha
Floating Turtle is the single best grinding spot in the entire game. The Marine spawns are incredibly dense, the terrain is flat and open, and the quest NPC is right next to the spawn area. You can complete a full quest cycle in under 90 seconds with a good build. Many players stay here well past the "recommended" level range because the efficiency is just that good.
💡 Pro Tip: On Floating Turtle, position yourself at the center of the Marine spawn area and spin your camera while using Buddha AoE attacks. You'll hit every Marine in the area without moving. It's almost zen-like.
Level 1975–2200: Haunted Castle → Sea of Treats
Enemies: Ghosts (Lv. 2000), Cookie Crafters (Lv. 2100) XP per kill: 60,000–72,000 Quest XP: 120,000–135,000 Recommended fruit: Buddha
Sea of Treats has good density and the enemies aren't as tanky as you'd expect for their level. The Cookie Crafters go down fast with a well-built Buddha character.
Level 2200–3000: Tiki Outpost → Mansion
Enemies: Tiki Warriors (Lv. 2275), Undead Pirates (Lv. 2450) XP per kill: 78,000–95,000 Quest XP: 150,000–170,000 Recommended fruit: Buddha
The final stretch. Mansion is the endgame grinding spot. Undead Pirates have high HP but the XP per kill is the highest in the game. Push through this last stretch and you'll hit max level 3000.
Boss Farming Spots
Bosses give large one-time XP rewards and can drop rare items. Here are the most farmable bosses by sea:
| Boss | Level | Location | XP Drop | Notable Drops |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Saber Expert | 200 | Jungle (quest) | ~15,000 | Saber Sword |
| Don Swan | 1000 | Kingdom of Rose | ~80,000 | Swan Glasses |
| Awakened Ice Admiral | 1400 | Ice Castle | ~120,000 | Library Key |
| rip_indra (Raid Boss) | 5000 | Castle on the Sea | ~300,000+ | Dark Dagger, Valkyrie Helm |
⚠️ Warning: Raid bosses like rip_indra require a full group. Don't attempt them solo unless you're max level with a perfect build.
