Your First 10 Minutes in Blox Fruits
You'll spawn on Starter Island with nothing — no fruit, no weapon, just your fists. Don't panic. Here's exactly what to do:
-
Grab the quest from the Military Soldier — he's standing right in front of spawn, impossible to miss. He'll ask you to kill 8 Bandits (Level 5) in the area behind the buildings. Reward: ~250 Beli and enough XP to hit Level 5.
-
Talk to the Sword Dealer next to the dock and buy a Cutlass for 1,000 Beli. Yes, you'll need to grind a couple of quests first. The Cutlass is your best early weapon and it's worth the investment.
-
DO NOT spend any stat points yet. Seriously. Read the stat section below before you touch that menu.
As of Update 26 (Feb 2026), Starter Island hasn't changed much, but the quest flow is still the most efficient way to begin.
⚠️ Common Mistake: The Blox Fruit Dealer sitting near spawn sells fruits starting at 10,000+ Beli. You can't afford that yet. Don't waste time staring at his inventory — come back later when you have cash or find a random fruit spawn on the ground.
Understanding Stat Points — This Will Save You Hours
Every time you level up, you get stat points to distribute across five categories:
- Melee — Increases punch damage and health slightly
- Defense — Increases your max HP and damage reduction
- Sword — Increases sword damage
- Gun — Increases gun damage
- Fruit — Increases Devil Fruit ability damage
Here's the thing most beginners get wrong: they dump points into Defense thinking it'll make them tanky. It won't — not at low levels. You need to kill things faster, not survive longer against Level 5 Bandits.
Recommended beginner stat split (Levels 1–100):
- Melee: 60% of your points
- Defense: 20%
- Fruit: 20% (if you have a fruit) or put this into Melee too
💡 Pro Tip: You can reset your stats for free using active codes. Check our Blox Fruits Codes page before you stress about picking wrong. Experiment freely.
Once you hit Level 300+, you'll want to shift to a Fruit-heavy build if you have a decent Devil Fruit. But for now, Melee carries.
The Fruit System — Don't Rush It
Fruits (Devil Fruits) are the core power system in Blox Fruits. There are three types:
Paramecia — Gives you special abilities but no elemental immunity. Examples: Dough, Barrier, Quake. These are the most common type. Some are incredible (Dough is S-tier), some are trash (Spin... just don't).
Logia — The beginner's best friend. Logia fruits make you immune to attacks from NPCs lower than your level. That means enemies literally phase through you. Examples: Flame, Ice, Light, Magma. If you find any Logia fruit early, eat it immediately.
Zoan — Transform you into a creature. These give enhanced stats and unique movesets. Examples: Dragon, Leopard, Buddha. Zoan fruits range from god-tier (Leopard) to meh (Falcon).
⚠️ Warning: Don't buy a fruit from the dealer until you understand what you're getting. A Bomb fruit costs Beli and it's genuinely one of the worst fruits in the game. Save your money or wait for a random spawn.
💡 Pro Tip: Fruits spawn randomly on the map every 60 minutes in public servers (and every 30 minutes in private servers). They despawn after 20 minutes. If you're lucky, you can find a good one for free just by exploring.
Your Level 1–100 Route
Here's the exact progression path through the First Sea's early islands:
| Level Range | Island | Key NPCs / Enemies | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–15 | Starter Island | Bandits (Lv. 5), Monkeys (Lv. 14) | Grab every quest from Military Soldier |
| 15–30 | Jungle | Gorillas (Lv. 20), Buggy (Boss, Lv. 25) | Buggy drops decent XP, fight him if you can |
| 30–60 | Pirate Village | Bobby (Level 55), Pirates (Lv. 35–50) | Toggle quest method: accept quest, kill, abandon, repeat on Bobby |
| 60–90 | Desert | Desert Officers (Level 55), Sand Bandits (Lv. 60) | Great mob density for AoE if you have a fruit |
| 90–120 | Frozen Village | Snow Bandits (Lv. 90), Snowman (Boss, Lv. 100) | Snowman boss is your first real boss fight |
Don't skip islands. Each quest chain gives bonus XP on completion and you'll fall behind if you try to jump ahead to higher-level zones.
5 Things NOT to Do as a Beginner
-
Don't dump all stats into Defense. You'll kill things so slowly that leveling becomes painful. Offense first.
-
Don't buy a random fruit from the dealer. You might get Spin or Bomb. Wait until you know what you want.
-
Don't try PvP before Level 300. You'll get destroyed by anyone with a decent fruit and Instinct. Focus on quests.
-
Don't ignore your Fighting Style. Talk to fighting style teachers and learn at least one. Combat is built around combining fruit moves with melee/sword moves.
-
Don't sell or trade your first fruit unless you know its value. Check our Fruit Trading Guide before making any trades.
💡 Pro Tip: Join a crew as soon as possible. Crew members share a small XP bonus, and playing with others makes the early grind way less tedious. Plus, crew mates might drop you a spare fruit.
What Comes Next?
Once you hit Level 100, you're past the tutorial phase. The First Sea continues all the way to Level 700, and the game gets significantly more interesting:
- You'll unlock Instinct (Observation Haki) at the Skylands around Level 300
- Enhancement (Armament Haki) becomes available that lets you hit Logia users
- The Colosseum and Magma Village offer the best mid-game XP
- By Level 700, you'll unlock the Second Sea, which is basically a whole new game

Welcome to Blox Fruits. It's a long road to max level, but stick with it — the endgame PvP and boss fights are worth the grind.
